Ros became interested in artists’ prints while studying the visual arts at the V&A. To better understand the techniques involved in hand printmaking she enrolled on a weekend course at South Hill Park and became addicted. The creative possibilities in printmaking are endless and Ros often plays with different processes to build up layers on the plate or on the paper, hence her prints are often one-offs. Her eye seems drawn to patterns, rhythms and colours in the natural world and her work is loosely based on personal recollection, perhaps just a remembered glimpse or quick sketch.
